UK banking commission seeks phoenix from HBOS ashes
The interim report of the UK’s Independent Commission on Banking said yesterday that the planned Lloyds divestitures were too small to create an effective challenger to the large UK deposit-taking banks. It recommended that Lloyds spin off more assets than required under EU state aid rules.
