BofA Merrill, Deutsche take FIG lead after Danske completes

Bank of America Merrill Lynch enjoyed a good day for its FIG equity capital markets franchise on Wednesday. No sooner had it completed the Dkr20bn ($3.8bn) rights issue of Danske Bank, for which it had provided a full pre-underwrite, than it was mandated as joint global co-ordinator for a Eu5bn Intesa Sanpaolo deal alongside the Italian bank’s own Banca Imi.

Deutsche Bank has also taken a prominent role — it is process bank for the Commerzbank deal and was brought in by Intesa as one of the joint bookrunners along with Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley last week.

Danske meanwhile reported a 99.8% take-up for its $3.5bn ...
