BofA Merrill’s international strategy pays off with record IB fees

Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s push to expand its international business paid off in the second quarter of the year, with 23% of its record quarterly investment banking fees coming from outside the US.

The bank’s global banking and markets division reported record revenues of $1.637bn from its advisory, debt issuance and equity issuance businesses, up from $1.301bn in the second quarter of 2010 when only 17% of fees came from outside the US.
