MegaFon deal starts race for $4bn London IPO

MegaFon, Russian’s second largest mobile operator, could realistically bring a $4bn IPO to market this side of the summer, said bankers, after its three shareholders agreed a new corporate structure for the firm this week. Potential lead managers for a London listing were interviewed last week but it is yet to mandate banks.

The owners have agreed to "work towards an IPO as soon as practically possible", they said on Tuesday.
