Tyrie to announce scrutiny of UK banking reforms

Andrew Tyrie, chairman of the Treasury select committee, is to announce on Friday plans to scrutinise the draft bill for banking reform in the UK before the government begins legislating for it.

The government published a white paper last week detailing plans to ring-fence investment and retail banks as well as minimum capital requirements to make the financial sector more resilient to external shocks.
