Gordon's alive! Taylor escapes RBS cuts

The Royal Bank of Scotland has confirmed Gordon Taylor in position as head of debt capital markets, following the restructure of its primary business announced last week.

Gordon Taylor, who was global head of capital markets at the bank, will lead the investment grade debt capital markets team across corporates and financial institutions. Effectively, this is a continuation of his role before the most recent restructuring, as he continues to be the firm's most senior debt capital markets banker.

GlobalCapital understands Taylor was not asked to leave the organization at any point and no role other than running DCM was under discussion. In the new structure, Taylor will report to Scott Satriano, who was made the head of financing and risk solutions in last week's restructure.

Last week, RBS launched another rounds of cuts to its capital markets business as part of the broader restructuring of its investment bank.
