Bankers call for fee hike after UBS drops expensive SSA business

Senior SSA bankers are suggesting an increase in new issue fees in the wake of top four dealer UBS’s shock shut down of its SSA business. Bankers now fear for the health of a market that has long been less profitable than more exotic business lines, despite the vast sums of public finances that are raised through it.
