Financial institution bond markets glimpsed the abyss of another issuance shutdown this week as Greece’s debt crisis spread fear through southern Europe and beyond. But, by Thursday, optimists among syndicate bankers and investors expected markets to re-open within a week, though others were still waiting for details of Greece’s rescue package before assessing whether issuance could take place.
