Poland wants $1.5bn JSW float to have local flavour
The Republic of Poland pressed on with plans to privatise Jastrzebska Spółka Weglowa (JSW), the European Union’s largest coking coal mining firm, this week asking investment banks for their input into a deal that could be worth $1.5bn later in 2011. The Treasury, in making potential bookunners’ local operations a key question, brushed aside criticism of its selection process.
