Greek impairment and PPI plunge RBS into red
Royal Bank of Scotland lost £678m before tax in the second quarter of 2011, the bank announced last Friday, after taking a £850m loss on payment protection insurance costs and a £733m Greek debt impairment — the whole of its available-for-sale exposure.
