Consob adds short selling bans but data show no change

Italian banks bore the brunt of a post-election equities sell-off on Tuesday but the regulatory response — use of short-selling bans — stands in contrast to near real-time data showing no appreciable increase in short-selling in Italian equities or bonds, said SunGard Astec Analytics.
