Asiacell $1.3bn IPO sells Iraq to internationals
Asiacell, Iraq’s second-largest mobile operator, raised ID1.485tr ($1.259bn) on Monday through an oversubscribed IPO that featured heavy international participation despite a focus on marketing the deal domestically. Bankers hope the deal will stimulate the Iraqi equity markets as the country looks to fund infrastructure improvements.
