Co-op hires veteran CEO in hunt for fresh capital

The Co-operative Group has hired veteran HSBC banker Niall Booker as CEO of Co-op Bank and deputy CEO of the Co-op Group, as the firm seeks to address problems with its balance sheet and capital shortfall in the wake of Moody’s recent shock downgrade.
