Bernanke spurs renewed sell-off as SSAs abandon dollar market

The reaction to Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke’s statement at Wednesday’s FOMC press conference, has all but closed new issue markets for the rest of the week to SSA borrowers. Instead syndicate bankers are watching for a return of stability to bond prices before they recommend that SSA borrowers revisit benchmark markets, especially in dollars.
