SINGAPORE - Gambling on the future

Macau is raking in billions of dollars off the backs of punters willing to gamble their cash away. Now the rest of Asia is considering allowing the region's chancers to try their luck in their countries too. Singapore, a place not famed for its liberal attitude, believes it can. And at the end of 2004 the perfectly manicured city-state announced it has plans to try. Keri Geiger reports.
