At least eight credit traders have recently left Citigroup to take similar roles at Barclays Capital in New York, according to fixed-income market participants. Doug Warren, managing director in North American credit derivatives trading, is the most senior trader to go. He will be joined by his lieutenants, who include directors Jonathan Koerner and Greg Tell, as well as associates Ted Husveth, Geoff Gentile, Alex Salomon, Alex Rabiner and Tony Trears. All are headed to Barclays. The team is well-regarded, according to one outside observer. The traders did not respond to messages by press time.

An official on Citigroup’s CDS desk referred calls to Danielle Romero, spokeswoman. She declined comment. Karina Byrne, spokeswoman for Barclays, did not return calls by press time.
