Merrill Lynch has lost government strategist Greg Elders, who has relocated to London to study environmental economics at a business school, according to an official at the firm. Elders covered government derivatives, futures and options at Merrill and reported to Joseph Shatz, senior government strategist. Shatz and Carrie Gray, Merrill spokeswoman, declined comment. Elders did not respond to an e-mail by press time.
