South Korea's economy is highly developed and growing at a moderate pace. But a disappointing stock market performance in 2006 combined with the reality of a rapidly aging population means that the country must push for better disclosure to bolster its service industry if it wants to step up to the next level. It needs to keep an eye on the prevailing dominance of its conglomerates, too. Rupert Walker reports.
