Private equity ambitions grounded
A surge in buyout deals across Asia last year persuaded a fleet of local and foreign ventures to set up funds in the region. Many investment bankers even jumped sectors, lured by the promise of a more lucrative lifestyle. But while the market is growing, there seems to be too much capital chasing too few deals, and some firms are in danger of folding. Elliot Wilson reports.
