EQUITIES - China sees value in listing its state assets
Progressive politicians are pressing for state-owned enterprises to inject languishing assets into listed subsibiaries outside the mainland, often at discounted prices, as Beijing seeks to build companies capable of competing with foreign rivals. Firms floated in Hong Kong will benefit, as will canny investors, provided these assets are of real value in the first place. Elliot Wilson reports.
