Mitsubishi, UFJ in talks to form world’s biggest bank
Citigroup could lose its position as the largest bank in the world by assets, possibly as early as today (Friday). UFJ Holdings and Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group plan to merge, and a combined bank would have assets of $1.74tr, ahead of Citigroup on $1.32tr.
