Investment banking helps RBS reduce losses to £3.6bn
Sharply increased profits at Royal Bank of Scotland’s global banking and markets (GBM) division helped the state owned bank to cut its annual loss for 2009 to £3.6bn, slightly ahead of expectations and much lower than the £24.3bn hit it took in 2008.
