Bookrunners on Volkswagen’s Eu4.2bn share placement will bag one of the largest fee pots to be earned in equity capital markets this year. However, banks’ glee at winning the prestigious mandate will have been tempered by the prospect of having to share the fee pool among 13 institutions as the German carmaker tries to look after all of its relationship banks.
