Corporate borrowers take a breather
The European corporate bond new issue market looks set to remain very quiet this week, with only a number of tender offers which may culminate in new bonds offering any semblance of a pipeline. Greece’s further troubles, and companies’ blackout periods, mean the only issue priced so far this week was a debut euro deal for Smiths Group, which managed to get print a well-received Eu300m seven year deal on Tuesday.
