Japan’s Shinsei postpones covered debut again
Shinsei Bank yesterday (Tuesday) postponed what would have been Japan’s first covered bond for a second time, citing changes to its corporate calendar and internal considerations. A ¥30bn (Eu180m) 10 year bond was due to kick off the project on July 8, but has been abandoned and cannot be delayed beyond this point without registration being withdrawn. However, a spokesperson for the bank told EuroWeek that Shinsei remains committed to the project.
