SocGen’s CIB quarterly profits nosedive after sovereign crisis
Société Générale’s corporate and investment banking operating income in the second quarter of 2010 slumped to half of what it was in the same period in 2009. The firm blamed volatile markets, including the eurozone sovereign crisis, which it said were in marked contrast to the environment a year ago when revenues reached record levels.
