Utilities fire up corporate sector

The corporate bond market is seeing encouraging signs of life following the success of the GdF Suez dual tranche deal priced last Friday. The issuer is now planning to price a sterling 20 year deal via HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland at 220bp over Gilts. Other utilities including Centrica, EnBW, Gasunie and Energias de Portugal (EdP) are said to be actively sounding investors with potential transactions. To find out what the week is going to bring in terms of issuance, read EuroWeek on Friday.
