Alpha Bank ditches state aid in Eu1bn rights issue
Alpha Bank has become the latest European bank to set out plans to repay state aid. The Greek retail and commercial bank announced a Eu986m rights issue on Monday morning and will use the proceeds to repay Eu940m of preference shares that it issued to the Greek government in May.
