CME offers new clearing service
CME Group launched a clearing service for OTC interest rate swaps on Monday, anticipating regulatory pressure for derivatives trading to move to central counterparty clearing. On Wednesday, the Financial Stability Board approved recommendations to promote G20 commitments on OTC derivatives. This includes implementing mandatory clearing requirements and improving oversight of central counterparties.
