Place now, ask later as Rockhopper raises £200m
Rockhopper Exploration, the AIM-listed oil and gas firm that wants to be first to produce from Falkland Islands fields, raised £206m in an equity placing representing 34% of its share capital on Monday evening. The deal introduced a large number of new investors to the volatile stock and side-stepped pre-emption rights by making the issue subject to shareholder approval.
