Rating agencies wield the axe on Irish lower tier two debt

Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s have widened the notching between senior and subordinated Irish bank debt following the Irish government’s decision to change its legislative and resolution framework so that lower tier two would contribute to the recapitalisation of the country’s troubled banks.
