Mittelstand covets Schuldscheine as multinationals close in
Traditionally the preserve of the Mittelstand, the corporate Schuldschein market this year swelled as larger companies cashed in on the advantages of borrowing via the German domestic loan market. Despite its rising costs this year, bankers in Germany expect Schuldscheine to be one of the first markets that Mittelstand companies tap when capital markets recover. Francesca Young reports.
