Germany has not escaped the global downturn and its economy is suffering like so many of its European peers. But it is well set to recover faster than most of its neighbours thanks to a stable housing market, low household indebtedness, a high savings rate and key measures implemented earlier this decade such as wage restraints and other labour reforms.
