Ambac Q3 surplus puts paid to talk of statutory capital breach
Ambac put an end to speculation that it might have breached its statutory capital requirements during the third quarter by announcing that its statutory surplus to policyholders was $856m as of September 30 — nearly three times its surplus of $305.6m at the end of the second quarter.
