Basel out with final rules, but details disappoint

The wait is over for the FIG market. The Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS) released on Thursday morning the long-awaited Basel III rules text which lays out the details of global regulatory standards on bank capital adequacy and liquidity agreed by the governors and heads of supervision, and endorsed by the G20 leaders at their November Seoul summit. The BCBS also published the results of its comprehensive quantitative impact study (QIS).
