Telenet launches Eu300m deal as UPC taps US

Belgium’s largest cable television firm, Telenet, launched a Eu300m senior secured 10 year deal on Wednesday, the only euro high yield bond to come to market so far this week. Credit Suisse and JP Morgan are arranging the note. Meanwhile, Dutch peer UPC issued a $1bn 10 year senior secured deal on Monday, attracting heavy orders from US accounts. Syndicate bankers, however, say that Europe’s junk bond market could be quiet for the next fortnight with plenty of borrowers having entered blackout periods. Read EuroWeek on Friday.
