BarCap, HSBC crack the Coco code with Bank of Cyprus CB

The Bank of Cyprus this week revealed plans to issue the first contingent convertible (Coco) bond that is also convertible into shares on the upside. The transaction shows how lower rated credits could issue the product cost-effectively, while simultaneously opening up a wider investor base.
