BofA Merrill hit by monoline and mortgage settlements
Bank of America Merrill Lynch made $2.04bn in the first quarter of 2011, as a $1.1bn settlement with Assured Guaranty and a $2.4bn loss in the bank’s residential mortgage unit wiped out decent performance in the investment bank.
