JP Morgan’s investment bank drives rise in profits
The strong performance of JP Morgan’s investment banking division buoyed the first quarter results of the US bank, as it reported net income of $5.6bn. Its profits, up 67% on the same period last year, surpassed analysts’ expectations, as did earnings per share, at $1.28.
