UK gets tough on GDR issuers
A change to UK listing rules will make it “significantly more cumbersome” for companies with GDRs to issue new shares, warned international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton on Friday. It is feared that the envisaged change — which counters the charge that London has become a soft-touch regime for foreign firms — will make London a less desirable listing location.
