TRADING STRATEGIES - Alternative exchanges on the rise

Asian bourses have dominated stock trading in recent years and their revenues have risen accordingly. But a number of electronic traders have been setting up alternative platforms to match up orders outside the market. What they want most of all is to become market-makers, although whether this will be allowed is open to debate. Richard Morrow reports.
