Sovereign credit risks constrain banks, says BIS
Concerns about a poor outlook for growth and worries over the sustainability of eurozone sovereign debt have hampered banks’ market access, according to the latest quarterly report by the Bank for International Settlements. The BIS said that institutions could only mitigate the effect of sovereign credit risk, not get rid of it altogether.
