Ålandsbanken launches rights issues
The recapitalisation of Europe’s banks got under way on Tuesday, though perhaps not to the extent that some International Monetary Fund officials have been pushing for. However, Finland’s Bank of Åland — “A big bank in Åland, a small bank in Finland” — launched a €31m rights issue to help it meet new capital adequacy rules.
