Italian banks in spotlight as sovereign worries take over
Senior unsecured Italian FIG paper widened across the board on Wednesday as Italian bond yields breached 7%, exacerbating concerns that the world’s third biggest sovereign bond market was facing collapse. With Italian banks some of the largest holders of the country’s debt, bankers said senior and subordinated paper was suffering in secondary market trading.
