The emerging markets business at Credit Suisse has taken a hit as part of the bank’s latest cost-cutting initiative, but bankers at the firm insisted this week that the moves stopped a long way short of plans to exit the market entirely. The cutbacks represented a change in the credits that the bank would focus on, they argued.
