Bank of England, ECB increase liquidity help for banks

In a bid to help European banks through the liquidity squeeze that they are suffering as a result of the eurozone sovereign crisis — and to pre-empt problems in the sterling money markets — the ECB and the Bank of England this week put in place new liquidity facilities.
