Prospects slim for new covered bond jurisdictions in Asia

Australian, New Zealand and South Korean borrowers may have tapped new covered bond markets in recent years but, despite the long-held enthusiasm of banks across Asia, there are unlikely to be any deals from new jurisdictions in the near term, according to Ted Packmohr, head of covered bond research at Commerzbank.
