CaixaBank confirms Cívica takeover
Spain’s bank consolidation process took another step forward on Monday evening as CaixaBank announced a deal to acquire Banca Cívica to create the country’s biggest lender. Investors in the smaller partner – which was only listed in July - suffered with the shares losing 13% on Tuesday in reaction to the terms of the deal.
