The European ECM market faces a testing period as equity markets pull back from recent highs with financials everywhere and Italian stocks in general particularly hard hit on Tuesday. Syndicate bankers aren’t yet publically worrying about the second quarter pipeline — but hope that lowered expectations for upcoming data releases and the first quarter reporting season could help to get new issuance moving again.
