M&A belatedly hits 20,000 global deal count
Petrobank’s US$2.5 billion purchase of TriStar Oil & Gas saw the global M&A deal count hit 20,000 on August 5, a full month-and-a-half later than the landmark was achieved last year. It is the slowest year for M&A since 2005, with Goldman Sachs leading the year-to-date adviser league tables, according to Dealogic.
